The Cup

She lunged for the small green cup, her fingers just brush the handle as it falls. Her mother's favorite cup, shattered on the floor. Without thinking Beth picks the pieces up throwing them back into the cabinet, feeling sick to her stomach. And nervously waits for her mom to return.
