Attention
I just want your attention
Thats all I want sometimes
And sometimes it even drives me insane
Desperately doing whatever I possibly can to get you to look at me
And when you do look at me my heart drops and its like I dont want you to even know my name
Because you look at me with pity
And I look at you with envy
Only words
"I love you"
Three words.
Typed out in secrecy,
shouted out across a roiling mass of people.
"I love you"
sunshine flowing from your fingertips to your dear one with a single touch.
A smile like the cool mist of the dawn.
"I love you"
tossed out like flyers for a product or
guarded and kept like precious jewels for the one.
"I love you"
a choking whisper as terrible as quicksand,
sucking you down and numbing you
or a laughing call, causing lightning tendrils of happiness to
rush through your veins, making you blush
"I love you"
remembered and hated from the one who betrayed you
or cherished from those who have gone on before you
"I love you"
only words
"I love you"
with a kiss
with a note
with a wink
with a smile
"I love you"
with blood
with tears
with sickness
with death
I love you
more than you will ever know,
forever and always,
into eternity.
Racism
You are not the cause
Of a world of hate
You are not the sole target
Of a world of hate
Stop putting your race
Or your sex
Or your sexuality
Or your religion
As tags on your face
You do not get to represent
An entire group of people
Do not apologize
Or explain
Or get angry
On their behalf
Please try to refrain
Your race is part of your identity
But a race is not just you
And maybe say your name
Before you say your race
The Boy Who Cried Wolf.
The boy who cried wolf,
he never heard the wolf cry
when the villagers would come
and the wolf waited to die.
Staring forlorn
up at the cold moon,
he howls each night
his lonely tune.
His song shivers
down your spine,
and around your heart
will entwine
his tears
they pin-prick
your heart will sear
at this feeling
so silently clear.
Hush your mind
tip-toe, tip-toe,
if you choose
to hear the wolf's
story of woe.
His howl makes
the sleeping trees dance
the moon will cry
and the wind come prance
We hear these things
as they whisper and move,
but no one ever hears
the cry of the wolf. ❋
My Secret Recipe to Name Picking
I’d need to know more about your character’s disposition, when and where the story takes place so it fits the time/era and country/location, etc.
But if I ever have an issue coming up with a name I’d either benchmark or understudy awesome “bad boy” names such as Jax Teller from S.O.A, Riddick, Jesse Pinkman, Walter White, O-Dog, just to name a few of my bad boy fav’s and come up with one similar to my character’s disposition, or I use a name generator online:

http://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/evil_names.php#.Wba2yDYUlkI
https://nameberry.com/list/404/Badass-Baby-Names
If that doesn’t work out, I come up with a word or two of what I want the character to represent and look up the words in a different language and go with what sounds cool, since names can and should have profound meaning…
