Crisis Response
How does a hero/heroine respond to a crisis when they don't feel like a hero? When you are lost and you don't know what to do, how do you cope? And who do you become? Make your character dig themselves out of a hole. Make them face their reality with the dreadful sense that they don't belong and they've been doing it all wrong. Make them burn away who they thought they were, and show me what is left.

Mystery or Murder?
(<2,020 words) Writer's choice. Craft a short story about either a suspenseful mystery that is not about murder, or describe a murder as it is occurring from the perspective of the killer. Try not to have the character be sociopathic/psychopathic. The goal is to make mysteries more mundane and murders more relatable all the while capturing the curiosity of your reader. Take a moment to wonder, what warrants investigation? And what compels a killing?

Write a story about a selfish act of love.
I would appreciate it if all entries could avoid explicit content. Other than that, have fun with it!
