Dying Inside
I’m dying inside
Can you see it?
Can you feel it?
I feel it
It is my body
How do I say to my love?
What hurts me within?
Is it my heart?
My lungs?
My kidneys?
Or my gut?
I’m dying inside
Can you see it?
Can you feel it?
I feel it
It is in my body
How do I describe?
How do I put it in words?
The pain is excruciating
It keeps growing
It moves momentarily
But it definitely expands
I’m dying inside
Can you see it?
Can you feel it?
I feel it
It is within my body
Is it the fear of losing?
Or the fear of leaving?
I can’t make sense anymore
Every piece of me is brittle
I’m dying inside
Can you see it?
Can you feel it?
I feel it
It is within me
I’m dying inside
He can’t see it
He can’t feel it
I can
Something in me is dying
Winning The Day
On a cold winter’s night
She sat in the corner of her room
Holding her knees to her chest
Her eyes streaming with pain
She fled from her oppressor
Landed in a dump
Skinned her knee and heart
Did not quit on hope
She believed in freedom
Yet her desire was far-fetched
Her appearance weak
She couldn’t escape her fate
Efforts doubled
Strengthening in body and mind
She build courage to confront
She needed motivation just now
Vigorous yet calm
She heard that voice again
You are special and strong
It began haunting her fears away
Mountainous she persisted
Her motive dwindling
Yet every stone unturned
Victoria prevails through the day
Such…
A memory so clear
That water flows in fear
A dastardly image
Resembling the serpent’s curse
Some tearful words
Portraying a deeper meaning
Such was the end of you and me
A cry for hope
Genuflected in agony
A benign deed
Shadowing the wrath
Gazing into nothingness
Yet moving on
Such is the fate of humanity
Bitter wishes fulfilled
Towards maligned intentions
Boasting a belief
Morphed through history
Corroding hearts
While maiming weaklings
Such would be the world’s pleasure
Tomorrow will be better
Is not only a saying
Younger the mind
Broader the horizon
Crucial decisions
Taming humility
Such should be the motto
Darker days
Fade with time
Brighter suns
Yet to arise
Spring will blossom
Again with agility
Such will be a renewed period
