Maybe That’s Why
Sometimes it starts off as a lie.
A fake touch of affection,
An I love you with no backing.
It's funny... the truth always comes,
It seems from the start of a lie.
Maybe that's why women are so smart.
The light will always illuminate dark,
He can run and hide in his lies,
But the truth will always be found.
The secret garden
Hidden behind the trees
Lies the secret garden
Some try to find the gate
And others get so close
They see only the high walls
flowers that bloom
Mistakenly believing it's for them
The key is not there
Look into the heart of her
She only has one gardener
Who cultivates her soul
Her garden is his to tend
Softly and with a firm touch
The blooms are for him
Don’t Look, They Love Each Other!
I once learned to love without fear. I watched men holding hands as my parents gasped and put a hand over my young eyes. I met a poor girl with matted hair that only brought upon giggles from girls with golden locks. I invited her over and the world shook in anger, warning me of what society might think. I fell in love with a slender boy no one liked, but I loved him anyway. I made friends with those lacking fear, and we loved each other without a care.
CATASTROPHIC
"How dare you sit there,
pretending the earth doesn't shift
every time you speak," she says.
"You know very well,
each time you exhale my name,
the moon burns full, seas swell,
and I am but one kiss
from a climate change
that is catastrophic
for the world
of any man
who knew me
before
you."
