What Mask Do You Wear
The different masks we wear.
Mother, father, sister, brother,
husband, wife, lover, friend.
We are many things to many people
but the mask of importance
resides in ourselves.
Who we are; what we are.
We either hide in shadows,
or shout to the world.
“Don’t look at me!’
“Look at me, I am right here!”
Or are we just a masquerade party of one.
After all, Halloween comes once a year.
Life stays with us until our last breath.
Reach out
Does she think
She is not worth
Recieving, real love?
Does she think
She Shouldnt have it?
Does she think
She doesn't Deserve it?
Does she think
She doesnt need it?
I think she needs all of it.
To busy with opinions of
Other people you keep In your head.
She deserves love
She is love
Dont ever think you dont
Deserve all of it.
You just have to reach out
And take it.
Leading Her.
She didn’t ask for moments of clarity,
when all she wanted was to stay in the dense fog that surrounded her.
She didn’t wish for the pain of spiritual loss to cease,
when she felt she deserved excruciating pain for all her mistakes.
She sure as hell didn’t want to step over the edge of a cliff and t r u s t
another person with her heart and soul.
When she was perfectly fine, spending her days trolling through karmic entanglements.
Yet, here you are with your d i s r u p t e d notions of you,
Lifting the fog from her eyes.
While inadvertently helping her heal, gently leading her over
old bones and pieces of brittle foundation, into your arms of trust.
“Me today … who tomorrow?”
Is anyone, anyone?
Are we all just fakes?
Masks we wear—do others care?
Faces that we make?
Happy smiles, upside-down,
Send signals far & wide.
Expressing things we do not mean
& other things we hide.
Let’s peel away the parchment
Of skin on which we write.
& share the soul & other roles
That haunt us in the night.
Is anyone, anyone?
That’s all I want to know.
& tell me why time goes so fast—
when it used to be so slow.
