red roses

Roses are red,

Goodbyes are blue. 

Teardrops fall 

Between me and you. 

With only seconds left

Your hand retreats from mine

Gone with the promise 

That you'll defeat time. 

A sorrow I speak,

But you do not listen 

Trying to take steps 

To your own division. 

So on the ground I lie, 

Surrounded by none
