The Zombie Apocalypse:
Bring! Bring! Bring! The alarm clock blared into my ears. Bring! I reached over to the bed-side table and pressed the power button bringing the wake up call to a hault. I then realised how quiet it was. Usually there were cars driving by, the loud noise of a neighbour's TV or at least someone angry shouting at someone else to get his or her pet out of the persons back garden. But their was nothing. No cars, no TV, no angry neighbour. Nothing. I stood up, walked up to the window and opened it to find a street empty of cars, barely any in fact apart from some in the middle of the road. And a mass of people...
that wasn't normal? was it? I was about to shout down to ask about the situation, but when I opened my mouth to speak I caught a glimpse of one of their faces. Bloody. In fact faces dripping with blood, their clothes, Shredded. Some of them missing body parts, an arm, a leg, a foot, even half their bodies. I shut the window. Whoever those people were, I didn't want them knowing where I was. Then the smell got to me. An overpowering stench of rotting bodies. "Oh...thats bad" I ran to my wardrobe and grabbed a jumper out of it, and tied it around my face stifling the smell a little. I ran to my door and opened it, leading to a long staircase down.
In the kitchen I walked to the counter and grabbed a knife out of the holder and held it infront of my face These aren't people I thought, definatly not people- in the reflection of the knife I saw a tall man standing behind me, his jaw broken and hanging loose, blood covering his face. I gripped the knife tighter and turned slowly. There it was, clear as day; it began shambling towards me. Before it reached me I lunged forward and slashed at it, but still it pressed on, unharmed, I slashed a few more times before thinking .. the legs!! I kicked as hard as I could at the knee and it bent inwards. Broken. The thing crumpled onto the floor and I stabbed at it's head. This, obviously harmed it as it sent out a unimaginably loud screech. I hit it in the same place as before, and the knife stuck in as it fell and landed on it's back. I walked over and grabbed the knife removing it with effort, I heard loud bangs at the doors and windows. More of them!! better get going, I thought. There's a long day ahead of me.
