darkness.

If you were to taste it

It would be pungent

Slithering across your tongue

And down your throat

Its the night sky

And a thick blinding smoke

The abscense of light

And the representation of darkness

And evil

differences.

The world is filled with so much hate

So much discrimination

Against races

Gender

Sexuality

Religion

Age

Are we not all people?

We all breathe the same air

We all bleed the same

We all rely on the beating of our hearts

We all love, hate, live, die

And yet

Someone decides they're superior to their neighbor

Based on the contrasting colors of their skin

We are doomed to destroy our own race

As hate is the gunpowder

Ready to ignite

And shoot a hate-filled bullet

Into the heart of the world

My Biggest Regret.

I've come to regret many decisions

Being happy for others, rather than myself

Scars across my skin

Not living each day fully

But my biggest regret of all?

You.

awakening.

It happens every day

You are lucky, finding them in sleep

But I'm wide awake

I'm fully conscious with eyes wide open

Trying not to stare at the demons

The ones that lurk in the shadows

The ones that follow you

The ones that watch you

The ones reading this over your shoulder right now

The ones getting ready to strike

It's only a matter of time

Until you see them too

And descend into madness

With me by your side

We live between the lines

A subtle subscript to written words

We live on paper

In a generation of technology

Desire.

It felt like fire, igniting in my heart and seeping into my veins until every

cell was engulfed in flames. There was no way to tell who was breathing who's air in the small space between us. Our souls intwined, and I didn't want to ever see them separate.

Realizations

I always saw myself as a lifeline

Giving you purpose

But now it's clear

I'm a parasite

Taking pieces of your soul

Of your sanity

Crushing your heart within my hands

Keeping tainted memories alive

By picking at the scabs

Using your blood as ink

To write this

I'm sorry.
