Lost at Sea - 1
It's the fourth time today I've found myself needing to be here.
Sitting down and burying my feet in the sand, I take in the vast dark blues of the ocean and sky at night.
I miss you. I say aloud, letting the words be carried away into the ocean.
The beach at night is quite, nothing but the soothing sound of the waves. I closed my eyes for a while letting it all soak in.
And that was my first mistake. . .
I awoke to the light feeling of raindrops landing on my skin. Groggily blinking awake I realized that I am rocking left to right slowly and rhythmically. As I process the scenery around me I realize that I am no longer at the beach.
"Finally Lassy I thought we're gunna have to use you to feed old Lock M." A gruff voice says over my head. I turn around to see a man with a thick beard standing on what I am horrifically processing as a ship.
The man takes two steps closer to me reaching his dirty calloused hand out to me, "Welcome aboard Love."
I must be dreaming. . . I have no idea what's going on.
I grab his gruff hand, not knowing what else to do, as he pulls me up to my feet.
"Where am I and why am I here?"
"Your on my boat and you're here because you kept begging me to bring you aboard." He says rolling his eyes, yet his lips were met with a smile that neutralized the annoyance in his tone.
"No I didn't. I don't even know who you are . . . " I say even more confused.
"You do Love, you just don't remember . . ." He says stroking his beard and with an inquisitive look.
Before I can further protests, a man in in a dingy red jacket over what looks to be a pirate costume, short ponytail and less teeth in his mouth than fingers on my right hand comes up and whispers something in the burly bearded man's ear.
He nods turning to the left and signaling another man to come over, this man looks way more modern like myself, wearing a red nike jacket, and sweat pants with short blonde hair comes over, while the burly bearded man turns to me.
"Nasty bump on your head you got there, Doc will patch you up, and give you a tour. We will discuss your purpose when it is appropriate, do not cause a fuss and there will be no issues. Do you understand?" He says reaching over to my shoulder and dusting my left shoulder off.
Even more confused and now horrified, I look at him not saying a word.
He pats my shoulder "Good, we'll be in touch." as he spins on his heel and walks out of my field of vision with the man in the dingy red jacket.
Doc turns and puts his arm under me to support me. "Come on we'll get you patched up and teach you the ropes of how things are all going to work around here."
