Do you or someone you love suffer from PTSD? (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Shell Shock, Solider Shock, etc) Tell the story (if you are willing) of what led to this, or the aftermath, or both. All forms welcome, nonfiction, fiction, essay, poetry, using pseudonyms, etc. Please read the description for more details.
Tell a story in any format of the effects or cause of PTSD on a life. No rules.
PTSD can stem from experiences as a solider, a violent situation, violent trauma, childhood trauma.
The official definition of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is:
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a debilitating anxiety disorder that occurs after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event.
Describe any or all of the following using whatever criteria you feel comfortable with:
The person before/after the event(s)
The event(s)
The aftermath
The treatment
The outlook
Triggers
Effect on relationships, work, social activities, addiction, alcoholism.
Challenges within the "new normal" of having PTSD
This is such a devastating and debilitating condition that is vastly misunderstood, and can be caused from so many different life events that we as a society are just now recognizing the sheer number of people who suffer from this. While for years it was believed to only be severe physical trauma (war veterans or survivors of brutal attacks), we now see that it is a spectrum experienced by many.
Thanks for your participation and discussion. Feel free to tag me.

Mother's Day Writing
Mothers Day is coming up. Write a letter, poem, short story about your experience with your Mother, without a mother, being a mother. Anything goes. Maybe your poem is sweet, or you want to write her a letter to tell her what a great job she did! Or maybe you want to tell her you're glad you survived, and tell her how you really feel. Any genre, any form. Make us cry or make us laugh, or both!
Happy writing!

Tell us about THE book, story, or poem that changed your life. The one that brought you to love words.
The love of reading, or the love of words is something writers share. Tell us about THE book, story, or poem that changed your life. Give us a synopsis of the piece, with the author and title. If you want to, tell us why we should read it if we already haven't.
Only one rule: You can only pick ONE piece. Don't over think it -- pick the one piece that has stayed with you more than the others. We all have reads that we couldn't put down, and some we forged through even though it was painful.
So tell us about the piece of literature that stays with you, that sparked your imagination, that made you want to put pen to paper and tell your stories, your words, your poetry.
Fellow Prosers- Read through these posts as they (hopefully) come in. Is there a book you've read? Let us know in the comments. One you need to read? Let us know that, too. Let's interact and get a feel for what inspires us to give our words to the world.

Dear Mr. President...
Write a letter to our current 45th president. Anything goes. If you're a fan, great. If you're not, awesome!
Ideas for your open letter:
Let him know what you think about the first 6 weeks of his presidency.
What is he doing right/wrong?
What do you think about his policies?
What is free speech, freedom of the press? Is he violating it?
Is russiagate a thing?
What is kellyanne on, really?
What's his favorite book he's never read?
Use a theme if you wish. You can write from the future looking back, the present or the past. Seriously anything goes- clearly ;)
It can be funny, serious, satire, fearful, all of the above and more. It can be full of actual facts, alternative facts or pure Trump tall tales. Remember though, no threats or anything like that because we are addressing #45, and as much as some of us may not like him, we can't go there.
If you will please tag me, and hashtag this: #DearMrPresident, and any other hashtags you feel are relevant to your letter. Put it in the political portal for maximum exposure.
If you would like this to appear in social
Media (twitter, FB, or IG) make sure you let me know via private msg. you can be credited for your work by your real name, a pen name, initials, etc and tagged via that social media outlet should you wish to go public with your letter.
Thanks for playing, let's have some fun and laugh our way through some really strange times, particularly for free writers and freedom of the press.
Happy writing fellow prosers!
May the odds of surviving another month of the Trump Presidency be in our favor :)
