Lost Love
Winter is so cold,
And I can feel that I am growing old.
Where are you, my fire?
Why aren’t you here?
Summer isn’t that hot,
When I think of you a lot.
Tell me, are you just hiding?
At least tell me, do you wear my ring?
I can hear the people say,
It is raining hard everyday
Maybe it is true,
But not more than when I cry, thinking of you.
Autumn has left the town with leaves everywhere;
I know you have disappeared, but in my heart, you are always there
I have now understood that our love is no more than a lie,
But why can’t I forget you, oh tell me why!
Everything has changed in spring,
Every tree, every plant, every sapling
But it is only me, not blossomed, although grown
Still seeking for a guy unknown.
crimson sunflowers of summer days
a simple memory, so fragile & could be forgotten
it seems so long ago that we were there,
riding bikes in the dusty air of summertime,
along the empty streets, & once in a while
the dogs would bark as we passed,
angry to be awoken from their summertime slumber.
lying on top of so much history, so many stories,
buried forever in the tall grass & sunflowers
that waved in the breeze as we passed.
you're still there, aren't you?
waiting, watching for me to return, &
for me to remember who I am.
sunset, lighting up the whole world
those sunflowers glowing crimson & gold,
and in the last moments before the sun disappeared,
they hold on to a moment of time,
a reminder of those summer days.
in the middle of a town where people rush around day & night,
in the middle of all those modern buildings, modern people, modern world
you still wait for me to remember; in all the golden splendor,
in the simple fragility of your untouched world,
you wait for us to remember those summer days
that are now only memories, faded and almost forgotten.
Wait for me. I'll come back.
colombo port
orchid florets growing in china holder,
our songs ended before we sang chorus.
told my friends about everything,
"the best joke you cracked in five years," they commented.
camellia seeds sown; grew into acacia thorns,
the scenes were blue but spikes pierced the hue.
now i’m standing on colombo port,
waiting for a wave to take me home.
all the ships have sailed with men telling chirpy tales.
the sailor said, ’the boats might sink in waves like that.”
so i’m standing on colombo port,
breathing the air coming from my home.
threw fourteen pennies in the sea;
hoping for the best that could happen to me.
told the stranger, ‘my network’s down’,
“nothing’s fancy in life they should know about,” he frowned.
bought an egg of crow; hatched into an albatross,
flew to the deck before it was hung around the neck.
now i’m standing on colombo port,
waiting for a wave to take me home.
could have walked but the lost bridge broke in 14th century,
and if i jumped off the coast, it would be self-treachery.
so i’m standing on colombo port
rusting my nails so they don’t bend when i hammer them evermore.
Many More Blue Skies
Down, down, into the sea,
Someone’s pulling me in
Taking me more deeper,
To a world called underwater.
It’s not hard to breathe anymore,
The sea, she isn’t salty or sore
Her whispers seem like an enchanting wine,
Yes, she is divine.
Taking me to the deepest depth,
She has found her place in my breath
Caressed by her mighty tides,
It’s time to explore many more blue skies.
I am not afraid of my life anymore,
For she won’t let me to get back to the shore
Now it’s time to discover the skies underneath,
Many more blue skies waiting just for me.
Puppet
I’m just a puppet
for display and for show.
Encased within glass
with a slot on the door.
Go on, insert a coin.
I will perform and dance
to bring you joy.
I’m just a puppet
with strings controlling me.
They tighten more every day,
Tugging at me more vigorously.
I’m just a puppet
You determine my moves.
To fail, or to succeed
I don’t get to choose.
I’m just a puppet
To obey your every command
Even if it means
I’m always feeling sad.
I’m just a puppet
Forced to follow the path
you laid out for me.
Only to become the person
you expect me to be.
I’m just a puppet.
Strangled by your chains
Wishing every day
For you to end the pain.
I’m just a puppet.
The sun behind the cloud
She's my junkie,
the one and only.
My favorite person
in the whole universe.
I believe in you.
Our dreams will come true.
Yes! I said they will,
b'cos I know you believe it too.
Will you be my escape?
The sun behind the cloud.
When I'm lost or ashamed.
The silver lining that I find.
Walk with me to the stage,
when our names calls for praise.
I'll be the best I can.
I'm not perfect, but I'll try.
Look me in the eye,
see what I hide
inbetween my pride.
I'll look you in the eye,
...confess and cry.
The things that make me dark.
I won't have it any other way.
True love can be hard.
If I'm truly here to stay,
say what's on your mind.
'cause I'm as fragile as you're,
maybe more...
Don't keep count.
You're my junkie,
the one and only.
My favorite person
in the whole universe.
Someone Like Me
Crimson red roses bloomed at night,
In that peculiar house, the only house with a light
I looked up at the sky and saw the moon shine,
And I howled and howled as if the whole world was mine.
Was I too loud? For I saw something come out,
It was from the house’s window, a woman’s silhouette
Wearing her nightgown, she walked to the balcony,
Half man and half wolf, she was surprised to see me.
Then something unusual happened, something hard to believe,
As I saw perfectly carved horns and wings come out from her body!
“I am Angel,” she said “the only one left behind.”
“I am Alpha,” said I “the last of my kind.”
The clock struck twelve and the church bells chimed,
We said nothing else, we just stood there and smiled.
So there’s someone like me, yet nice and suave,
Someone like me, someone I love.
