What do you want from me?
What do you want from me?

What do you want from me?,
I've lived my life by your word.,
You say I'm blind and can not see.,
Then I'm going by what I've heard.
How can you keep taking from me.,
Why can't you leave me be.,
O' What do you want from me?
O' What do you want from me?,
I can feel your blade in my back.,
You say I'm not as righteous as thee.,
I'm always fending off your attack.
I shut my eye's so I don't have to see.,
Please just leave me be.,
O' What do you want from me?
What do you want from me?,
Why can't I live my life.,
Hardship is how it will be.,
Always filled with so much strife.
You keep saying nothings free.,
We have to pay is that how it should be?,
So what do you want from me?
What do you want from me?,
You keep saying I'm blind and can not see.,
O' I'm not as righteous as thee.,
O' There's nothing for free.,
Why don't you just leave me be.,
O' What do you want from me?
Awoken to my own nightmare.
I awoken to my own nightmare.

I awoken to my own nightmare.,
In my soul it left a tear.
I dreamed I was falling down.,
Got so close to the ground.
As I past you by.,
I stuck out my hand.,
But you turned away as I begun to cry.,
O' I couldn't understand.,
O' Why you wouldn't take my hand.
It was hard to take I swear.,
O' As I awoken to my own nightmare.
I awoken to my own nightmare.,
If I told you would you even care.
This time someone was after me.,
I couldn't hide or get away.,
A black figure was all I could see.,
O' Let this pass was all I could pray.
I was frozen in place I swear.,
As I awoken to my own nightmare.
O' I awoken to my own nightmare.,
If I told you would you even care.,
As I awoken in my own nightmare.,
I was frozen in place I swear.,
O' I awoken in my own nightmare.,
O' In my soul it left a tear.,
As I awoken in my own nightmare.
Fallen Through Life’s Broken Glass.
Falling through life's broken glass.
By Anthony Grider 11/21/2017
Down on my luck again.,
Nothing you've done counts for anything at all.,
Being judged by your own sin.,
Always got my back against the wall.,
Never got the pick always got the pass.,
O' Feeling like falling through life's broken glass.
Can't stand when you're being pulled down.,
O' No don't matter what you've done.,
Can't be heard if you can't make a sound.,
Losing only counts when you've never won.
O' Caught in life's quicksand.,
Stretched out but no one to take my hand.
O' Can't get the pick always get the pass.,
O' Feeling like falling through life's broken glass.
Losing my mind when all I feel is pain.,
Feeling the bottom when I always fall.,
Nothing goes right so how can I stay sane.,
Always backed against the wall.,
O' How can I over come this all.
Will never get the pick will always get the pass.,
O' Feeling like falling through life's broken glass.

I keep telling myself I'll be ok in time.,
But I don't know if everything will be fine.
Don't know if I can make it through.,
O' After losing you.
I cry but no one hears the sound.,
You was my pet and you keep me on the ground.
I don't know if everything will be fine.,
I just need some kind of sign.,
But I keep telling myself I'll be ok in time.
I keep telling myself I'll be ok in time.,
But I don't know if everything will be fine.
As I stand here without a home.,
So hungry don't know where to go.,
So hard facing this all alone.,
A life lived without much to show.
Can someone give me a sign.,
I don't know if everything will be fine.,
But I keep telling myself I'll be ok in time.
I keep telling myself I'll be ok in time.,
But I don't know if everything will be fine.
As I stand here needing meds I can not get.,
Stay so sick since my healthcare was taken away.,
They lied and said our future was set.,
Our voices weren't heard they don't care what we say.,
But soon they'll be gone after election day.
With our vote we need to send them a sign.,
Then I know everything will be fine.,
After they're gone, we'll all be ok in time.
I keep telling myself I’ll be ok in time.
I keep telling myself I'll be ok in time.

The Red Eyed Man
The red eyed man.
By Anthony Grider 2/2/2017
It was a very hot summer when we moved into our new house. It was a two story house that sat at the end of a long dead end road just outside of town. It was white with a red tin roof. It had four bedrooms and two bathrooms up stairs and a half bath down stairs, so plenty of places to go when nature called. As you walked in the house it had a pretty neat entry way with stairs going up to the second floor. Over to right lead into the family room, to the left to the dinning room and through there into the kitchen. Very nice house but old and in need of some cleaning.
As you go up the stairs the master bedroom was to the right and to the left was the other three bedrooms. I ran up the stairs before my sister's could get into the house, I had to pick the best bedroom for myself. As I entered the first bedroom, it was small so I knew my youngest sister would love it. I ran into the next room and boom it hit me, this was the one for me. The biggest bedroom and it had a window looking out into the back yard. Yep my room for sure.
After we got moved in and set up. I walked out on the back porch and looked at the grown up yard and right then I knew what I was going to be doing on my summer break. My dad came out after me and laid his hand on my shoulder and with a big smile he said, " Yep, good thing I bought that new mower." Yep it sucks being the only guy in the family besides my dad, that had to work all the time.
It wasn't long before I knew something was off about this place. I started hearing noises around the house. Scratching sounds, bumping sounds coming from all over the house and mostly from the attic. Sounded like bowling balls rolling around and hitting the walls. No one believed me but over the next few days just about everyone heard something. One day our dog Max came into the kitchen and started acting funny then started barking at the cabinet under the sink. The hair was raised up on his neck and he was throwing a fit. Then boom all of a sudden the cabinet door flew open and hit him in the side knocking him down. Max yelped and took off out the door and would never come back into the house again. Everyone one was like it's just faulty cabinet doors nothing to worry about. I was like yeah right.
One of the hottest days in July the main air-conditioning unit tore up and the only air-conditioning unit in the house that worked was in my parents room, so at night we would pile on the floor in their room to sleep. We made pillets out of blankets and stuff. Wasn't the most comfortable but better than the rest of the hot house. During the day we staid mostly outside in the shade.
A few days later my cousin Bud came over to stay with us for awhile. I told him about all the noises around the house and what happened to Max. At first he didn't believe me but it wasn't long before he heard some things to. We was having trouble finding someone to come out there a fix the main air-conditioning unit, so we were all still piling into our parents room.
One night as we all laid in the bedroom floor. Bud and I was more at the foot of the bed and my sisters was at the side of the bed. The only light on was coming from the master bathroom over to the left of us. I was tired so I fell asleep fast. Then at some point in the night I had to pee. I woke up and looked over to right and setting on the top of the dresser was a figure of a man and he had red glowing eyes, staring right at me. The light from the bathroom just made a light shadow around the figure. As I laid there not able to move, not able to yell or even speak. No I was frozen. I wanted to yell, scream but couldn't. Wanted to move and wake up my cousin Bud but couldn't. There we was staring at each other through the haze of the bathroom light.
As time went by he or it never moved, no it just sat there looking at me, staring at me, looking right through me. Don't know how much time past but as soon as the sun light came through the window the figure faded away. As soon as it was gone I was able to move again so I got up and rushed to the bathroom and peed for like five minutes. As everyone woke up I told them what I had saw, but everyone said I was dreaming. I know I wasn't. Bud laughed at me saying I made it up to scare everyone but I knew better.
For the next few nights I couldn't sleep in the room at night. I just laid awake watching for the figure to return but night after night I didn't see it. I took naps during the day but still felt tired.
Two weeks later and the last night we would have to sleep on the floor because the next day a man was coming to finally fix the main air-conditioning unit. We was all piled in the floor again and this time I just couldn't stay awake and fell asleep fast.
Boom I felt a punch to my arm so I woke up. Bud was still hitting me when I looked up and there was the figure again staring at us. Just sitting there on the dresser looking through us with those fiery red eyes. I was frozen again, I couldn't move, I tried to yell, scream but couldn't. Finally Bud let out a loud scream that woke everyone up and then everyone saw the man with the red eyes right before he faded away.
No one wanted to stay in that room again and it wasn't long before we moved out. But to this day no one knows who or what the figure of the man with red eyes was.
The End.
