In this beauty the heart belongs.
Smooth, flawless scales camouflage, beware.
Gliding on land, on air, in water.
An often lethal bite, uncanny accuracy.
Unblinking eyes and flicking tongue terrify.
Ruby petals blossom from
A mottled frostbite
Blue and black stem.
Roots pale as death
Suck the joy and sanity
Out of the hearts of humanity.
Shrapnel, shattered glass, blades
Glisten as they jut from
The stem as thorns.
A perfect rose.
A horrifying abomination.
War.
Tail.
