I’ll draw the stars again
We thought of creating
A world, together..
With my violets
And your blues.
Nothing’s left of us,
Just a shattered constellation,
Blinking pain,
Useless tattoos.
To build with you,
I broke myself.
I’ll pick up the stars now,
And go back.
I'll start from the nebula,
Not from the black hole.
i'll shatter the galaxy for you, my darling
piece it together in your eyes
a mosaic of constellations we so adored
because you're leaving soon, my darling
so the last thing you see
will not be my tear-streaked face
it shall be the breathtaking stars
torn asunder in the neverending cosmos
to twinkle in disjointed chaos
until your light fades out
i'll miss you, my darling
I watched as they dragged you away,
Broken, and bruised, and bloodied,
Unrecognizable to those who knew you.
Your screams echoed through the empty corridors,
And you sat all alone in your prison of loneliness.
The cracks on your skin that bled red sprinkled my sky
With beautiful nebulas and shooting stars.
The tears that slid down your face like shining diamonds
Reflected in the deepened sea as they shot across the sky.
The sobs that racked your body shook my world,
Rattled my ground, and made the universe quake
As if you were a god, touching the heavens.
You were beautiful, even as they were killing you.
As they shattered my constellations
And as you took your final shakey breath,
My skies lit up like the darkened night on the Fourth of July,
As you fell to your knees, your body going limp,
The heavens cracked and the skies fell
for their god
no longer
lived.
Collapsed Breaths
You found my frozen tears along the edges of the Milky Way, gently placing them in your pocket heart as you followed the trail of my devastation.
As you stood in front of me, your tender heart glistening from the droplets of my soul, you whispered,
“In the dark, I can hear your galaxy faintly beating…”
At that moment I choked on the countless particles of Saturn’s rings as my chest expands from collapsed quiet breaths.
You awakened the heart of a dying star.
I was changed.
The sun has set so many times
on you and i
the night has brought winter
and it has snowed on my heart
the same one i left
at your doorstep
the stars have cried our loss
we have been categorized
as shattered constellations
separated by the great force of space
once we used to shine so bright
and now we're just broken.
