The Year Ahead (2021)
Three of my hopes for this new year:
1. I was diagnosed with Covid 19 on 12/23, and my immediate family got hit with it too. Our kids are doing better, I am feeling better and have been quarantined long enough to be able to go back to work on Wednesday, and my wife is still trying to shake a cough, but is improving otherwise. I hope that this disease gets defeated for everyone (including but not limited to my own family), and I hope that lingering health issues my family was dealing with before Covid get worked out this year.
2. I hope that we reach a point where things we missed out on in 2020 are safe again, like comic/anime conventions, and being able to have more in person acting opportunities to help me grow in my dreams of becoming a voice actor. I do also hope that we all keep any lessons and new skills we learned in quarantine intact when more things open up again (I started actively writing during quarantine after a long break from it, and I don't ever want to stop).
3. I hope in this new year we start to come together more and learn to appreciate and value each other's differences. The best place to start with this one is with ourselves (me included).
I am fearful about my family getting sick again, especially after just going through Covid. Regardless, I will continue to move onwards in this new year, and I will approach the end of my quarantine, and the days ahead, with cautious optimism.
