Constricted By Invisible Rules
Confined behind invisible lines
Thoughts and actions expected to abide
By rules left unsaid, yet implied
Too often to be forgotten
Place one toe on the other side
And suffer at your own peril
Darting eyes penetrate your soul
Loud whispers mock the bold
Lines play across sands
Moving towards new lands
No longer can you see freedom
For restrictions will extend
And capture your spirit again
Many have crossed over,
They have fled limitations imposed
But only few have succeeded
In carving a worthy life
Out in the wondrous wilderness
The rest have succumbed
Still trapped in linear lives
And envy those victorious
Men and women
Who are no longer bound by
Invisible Borders and Boundaries
I Wish
Looking out
Over the hills
Rolling hills
Of gold and green
Sending my wishes
Over the sea
Peaceful sea
Of blue and green
Dreaming a dream
Of when I could go
Far and far away
Alas!
I will have to wish
Until my dying day
Strolling along
Stopping there
A cold fence
Of black and grey
Running my fingers
Over the metal
Wishing until
My dying day
That I could
Just once
Go far and far away
Because happiness
Is what I have longed for
From now
To then
And going there
Is more than I
Could ever ever get
I'll sit
And wish
Again
