The United States owes a perpetual debt to the concept of treason pursuant to its founding as a direct result of treason against the British Crown. Of course, the question remains, "What defines the term 'treason?'" Generally speaking, treason is but a matter of one or more citizens conspiring to challenge, overthrow, or replace their respective and incumbent system of governance. Is there anything ethically or legally wrong with a manager firing his or her employee? If not, then there should not be anything wrong with (United States) citizens firing their employees, individually and/or collectively.
