He hadn’t seen anything like it in twenty years of teaching
In shock he remained as he entered the door
There was a strong thud like a boom
And the former teacher almost broke out into a roar
There was soil and a footprint on the classroom floor
All the materials were laid and used across the room
Students were interacting in groups of threes and fours
Students moved from wall to the other side
It seemed like they were not thought to abide
Some were on the stationary computers
And iPads were used by others
No one was using the chalkboard
And the children were not complaining about being bored
For the first time had this Principal witnessed true learning
But he could not let go of what he knew about teaching
He saw chaos and wanted the chalkboard to be utilized
Everything had to be as he had been asked to authorized
I guess he likes doom and gloom
He could not let the children explore, grow and bloom
