Homo’s
I have absolutely no problem with two people of the same sex banging each other.
Provided they both are of age, and they both consent.
I have no qualms with anyone who prefers same sex love. Besides it is none of my business.
Good luck to 'em I say, and if anyone objects they can go and take a long jump off a short pier.
Answer
Ask me a question. Tell me your truth. Do the whispers that flicker in shadows take from my muse? If I am not you is your truth a lie? If we stay here together would you hold me all night?
Ask me a question. Tell me your truth. Do dreams let you fly and fall for fun? If your heart skips a beat do you hush it at once? Can love be wrong if it is I who you love?
We should be so lucky...
I've never been in a relationship with another woman myself, but I see how hard it is for people to come together in love and contentment these days, so if you find someone that you can spend your days on this earth with, lovingly and securely, then you'd be stupid to let the fact that they are of the same gender stop you. If your lucky enough to find someone to love and be loved by, then embrace it and don't let it go.. Options of good people, genuine people are becoming fewer and fewer each passing generation.. So if you want to look at it realistically then heterosexuality can be a handicap and not the other way around.
People are People
Allow me to answer this question by asking some others.
Is it wrong or right to be:
A woman?
A child?
Tall?
Or short?
Eyes of blue or brown?
Does it matter to you?
How about race?
Would that offend?
When will we realize that people are people?
Made up of pre-encoded genes which determine these traits.
It is questions like these, which have been posed again and again, that breed hate.
War.
Genocide.
Isn't it time we stop?
The Luxuries We Can Now Afford
To dilute somewhat the normal amount of chemical warfare I bring to this issue, I will try to speak more humbly on the matter.
This involves setting aside religion entirely.
There used to be contexts of history within which the argument COULD be made that homosexuality is a luxury that a desperate, offspring-starving population could not condone. There were too many crops to harvest by too few hands. Women needed to get to baby-making tout suite, and I guess the silverback of the village got to decide which males besides him baby-made.
Those days are over. We can afford the luxury of living with homosexuality between consenting adults.
Another luxury we can afford? The concept of consenting adults.
Another? Making love. Of course, any two people can have who cares sex, turning themselves into circles on a Venn diagram intersecting at the crotch. It takes something (dare I use the word) magical to truly make love.
Also, the age of 18 meaning anything in our society, allowing people to live together whether they're called spouses or not, and minding your own business.
The problem with the word sexuality is that it encourages the emphasis on the sex itself, when homosexuality is every bit about butterflies, first dates, stupid fights, and "to love another person is to see the face of God" as anyone else's humble attempt at a love life.
Mr. Spock Was Right
Ever the pragmatist, Mr. Spock, arguably the most famous of all extraterrestrials, and Captain Kirk's grounding influence, never did figure out exactly how we humans think. Presented with facts which seem to solidly support a specific, logical conclusion, we often make emotion-based decisions which are polar opposites to where an intelligent mind would normally end up. A perplexed Mr. Spock, with one raised eyebrow, would sum up his exasperated confusion with one word, "Fascinating."
This is one of those instances.
Homosexual and bisexual behavior are common in nature, especially in mammals. Our closest relatives, the chimpanzees, are overwhelmingly bisexual. All species of porpoise have a significant percentage of individuals who exhibit same sex orientation. Birds, fish, and reptiles, to name just a few, have been observed engaging in same sex courtship and coupling. Even some species of worms!
It's obvious to any objective observer that homosexual individuals make up a significant percentage of the population of thousands of species.
There is one type of human behavior that does seem to be unique, however, and that is homoPHOBIC behavior. With this in mind, perhaps people who display homophobic attitudes should ask themselves exactly which group's actions are unnatural.
Of course, the tacit approval which they receive from our religious and political leaders compound the problem.
Fascinating.
