Three Collars
"An unexamined life is not worth living" is one of my favorite quotations. So to your challenge I will seek to write a little of what I've learned from my examination.
I live in contrasts. My quest is to live in the moments. Yet find myself in the future. I'm constantly in a relentless pursuit of happiness, but at times I actually enjoy taking time out for healthy grieving.
I own a Real Estate Brokerage company, but specialize in expert witness testimony using my appraiser's certification and experience. So by day I'm some sort of a professional "white collar" guy.
I live on a horse farm. My wife of 33 years and I bred Quarter Horses and grow hay (tough crop!). And then in the late afternoons I'm getting messy in my jeans and love it. At nighttime and weekends I guess I'm a "Blue Collar" guy. I'd rather mow a pasture than write an expert wittiness report. But I love doing both.
We have three kids, girls 29 and 27. The baby is a 23 year old boy. Drug addiction has rocked our "perfect" family. Even so that gives me a strange supernatural strength and wisdom. I'm grateful for it, but would never wish addiction on any household.
I write to relax. I write to attempt to press out my feelings. Haiku writing is my favorite form as I love nature and for me Haikus capture the "moments" that I strive for in life.
But I also write many different styles. I can't seem to get my "footing" with writing, yet I'm happy with that.
I self published a book once. It sold a few thousand copies. I absolutely hated it. Hated the process and pressure.
My book is about how Christians should live. Yet "Christians" have been my worse "friends. I loathe hypocrisy in myself and others.
I don't go to church. I don't like churches in general. Nevertheless, I enjoy writing a short applicable "sermonette" on occasions.
Friends have asked me to start a church. I'm not about to wear that Collar.
I've had three articles published in 12 Step Magazines of course they are Anonymous, with David M., North Carolina always noted as the writer.
I'm a proud introvert, yet I enjoy public speaking.
I live in contrasts and I like it there.
I'm comfortable in three Collars.
Stuff About Me (And S/O’s to some people)
Hey fam.
*Old man voice* When I first came to Prose., it was September of '14, and I'm telling you, there were dinosaurs walking around this place.
No, but seriously, that was a long time ago.
My name (or at least, what I would like my name to be) is Victoria. Victoria Shay, and I'm 15 years old, soon to be 16.
I used to post A LOT of stuff about Demi Lovato on here, because she's my idol. I don't do that as much anymore, and I'm not sure why, but I'm here to tell you that she's amazing and she's my everything and she made it a lot easier for me to make it to where I am now. (P.s. Taylor Swift is also pretty amazing)
I saw Demi in concert on September 21, 2014, and I saw Taylor Swift in concert October 9, 2015.
I am part of my school's color guard team, and next year (school year of 16-17) will be my second year being so :)
I live in darn freaking Republican Kansas in a small town of 4,000 people, and let me tell you, almost everyone in my high school is white and christian. Let me explain myself, though, before you get your panties in a twist and start yelling at me. I don't MIND white or christian people, I would just like to experience things OTHER than this specific group of people.
I want Buddhist friends, I want black friends, I want Chinese friends, I want Hindu friends, I want gay friends, I want transgender friends.
I CRAVE DIVERSITY.
I WANT SOMETHING OTHER THAN THE SAME-OLD SAME-OLD.
If you ever want me to read a book you like, just contact me sometime and I'll add it to my list! I can't promise that I'll read it anytime soon, because I have so many books to read, but I can promise you that it will be in my best intentions to do so.
Shout Out to the following Prosers:
@Lynn, for being an amazing poet and friend
@Miggie and @Paintingskies for being inspirations to us all
@Lsu11 for being one heck of a nice lady
and @liv for being one of my (if not the) bestest friend of mine, in real life. (Even if you don't ever come to see me) (#Shade)
Sorry, maybe I've gone too casual with you, but it feels good to finally just write whatever the heck comes to my mind.
My favorite song is Warrior by Demi Lovato and Clean by Taylor Swift, but my favorite album is Red by T. Swizzle. (yes, that's Taylor Swift). My favorite book series is Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes, but A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart.
