Throbbing in My Veins

Poetry bleeds out of my soul

splotches on pages of my life

warm and sticky like my words

painting life in crimsons.

I take a sip and taste the salt

mingling with my tears

passions pulsate and flow

onto my leaves of feeling

colored by slow drip

intoxicated with sweetness

forming wafting visions

of licking a copper pot

for the residue of life

throbbing in my veins

blushing in my essence.

Blood flows as my art

dripping into new realms

colored sanguine drops.
