POV of the Sky
I fell in love with the way you look at each other,
When you think no one is looking,
And slept to the sounds of love letters scraping by in the wind.
I relished the sight of two sets of palm prints set into sand,
And the reverie of candle lit dinners.
But here lies the problem:
Those are also the reason
I fell out of love with the world.
Gazes of love turned to jealous envy,
While fire raged in your hearts,
And the sound of the love letters were those thrown out in the wind.
Sets of palm prints turned to those set in rock- headstones,
As for candle lit dinners,
Well,
Let's just say some never get that.
i dreamt of a softer world.
where people didn't lie, backstab, and slander.
where it’s was a normal thing to run after the ice cream truck on a wednesday morning.
where the nights blended into the days.
where the days were spent… well, sleeping.
where you weren’t judged.
but who am i kidding? might as well just wish for a pony.
but who knows; maybe i'm wrong.
maybe i'm full of shit.
god
do i hope so.
Be a change
Generation X was meant to make so many changes. We were meant to change the world. What have you honestly done? NOTHING.
We all had so many dreams and ideas for what we wanted to change in this world to make it a better place. We are still making the same mistakes as our parents and grandparents on everything from the use of fossil fuels and gay rights.
Wake up!! Be the change you want to make in our world. Don't just wait around for somebody to do something it. You're somebody too!be
Anyone out-there listening?
I don't believe I have the right to tell anyone what to do, so I wont. I'll simply share truths, one very important truth specifically.
Perspective is everything.
We are the products of those before us and the ways we choose to react to the world around us. Our perspectives change our perceptions which ultimately create all the hostility and peace in the world. Every individual shares a piece of that responsibility whether they're aware of it or not-- both through action and inaction, intent and impulse.
Within our individual perspectives are our principals, beliefs, emotions, and perhaps most importantly, our tolerances. With these we build the foundation of our lives and knowingly or not, the lives of those around us. Until we can learn to tolerate what we don't agree with, but doesn't otherwise effect us, we'll never truly co-exist or find human equality.
Perhaps some don't want it, but for those that do, it's starts with you.
Learn to Live
People of this Earth, no matter your country or your religion, no matter your problems and no matter if you are rich or poor listen to me.
We are on borrowed time and our lives will drift by far, far sooner than we think. Stop what you are doing and listen. Please.
Everything in your life could change in just an instant, everything. None of us know what will happen to us minutes from now let alone tomorrow.
We must learn to live as one people not as separate villagers, or towns, or cities, or countries. But one people, one humanity.
In so doing we can begin to learn of each other as brothers and sisters, free from war and better able to fight famine and poverty.
We are the people of Earth and we are Earths caretakers, together as one to a more positive and more human tomorrow.
