It was not the Muscle
Neither was it the charm
That made him so appealing,
Yet she steal melted with time
Submitting to the patience of this man
'It is not your smell my dear,
neither is it your strong figure,' she said
'But because you chose to fight my wars for me
When you realized I needed you
You gave me your heart,
and served me with your love
It is this kindness that makes you a man
And my ability to inspire it that makes me a woman,'
She said...patting her man.
A man is made
By the wars he chooses to fight
And the people he fights for,
Service,
Defines him better
'And a woman,' he replied
'Is defined by the service he inspires'
Obituary for a Real Man
His friends never knew his love
had a sound until he laughed.
Life circumstances did not
make him a man but revealed
his strong foundation
hewn with rough stones
life threw at him.
His real power
emanated when
he saw the smile
on his wife’s face,
rocked his babies
to sleep and
taught them about life -
spending time with them,
talking and teaching
playing and watching.
Generously gave
to all his time,
smile, honesty
and choices.
Could be measured by
where he stood
when times were rough.
Judge him
not by his gains
but what he gave.
He was rich
in the things
that mattered.
A real man
to be remembered
for how he lived
not how he died.
This real man
was my father.
A Mans Man
This boy had very difficult childhood
Quit school to support
His brother and sisters
Studied to get his GED
Served his time at war (veteran)
This man worked everyday
Sick or not
Taught me responsibly
The value of a dollar
The hard way I might add
Taught me to work on bikes
Buy his tools I left out
My fault I knew better
Rough hands
Tender heart
Worked hard to take care of his family
Loved his children
"Loved (His) wife"
Sent us to collage
So we wouldn't have his struggle
A great debt of gratitude I owe this man
More than a father
He is my Dad!
Love ya Dad!
Hands
the young man
hands piano-wire strong
in fire and fist
ungainly and misused
cuticles bitten and torn
stuffed hard and deep
in pockets, curling
with frustration
the grown man
callus-roughened
scrubbed hard
with reverence, handed
his baby boy
in an instant
made soft and expert
to soothe and swaddle
and yet hidden away
still the same
fire, now smouldering
able to harden in fist
but only to keep
his baby safe
the old man
hands larger somehow
rougher and cracked
with time
his baby now a man
can still
rock and snuggle, answering
gurgles of the next generation
with low rumbling laughter
tousling heads, giving
pats of encouragement
and even now
his hands ready
to quick draw
in fist
when fire approaches
for his own
Real men
A real man fights for his family, no one can say any unkind words about them for they are his treasure.
A real man loves his woman with every bit of his being and no one can come between them.
Real men ride hard, get put up wet and keep going till the job is done.
Real men never abandon their children or their duties to their families.
Real men aren't liars and schemers always trying to get out of or away with something!
Real men are honest and have nothing to hide.
A real man can heal a woman's broken heart IF
he loves her enough to put the effort into her.
A real man will turn to his spouse when troubled not an outside interference.
A real man is willing to listen to his woman to understand her to know where here thoughts are coming from. By doing so only then can he reach her heart.
Real men want to love and pleasure their women because they understand that when she is happy she will make him happy beyond all measure.
Remember all of these my children and you will have a happy life. Be blessed.
My True Blue
His hands are large,
they are calloused from hard work.
Arms strong enough
to keep me safe from harm.
He'll know how to help
when I've been running on "E."
I haven't gone far
on my good luck and charm.
He'll be brave as a soldier,
marching into battle.
He'll be loyal and honest,
I'll call him True Blue.
He'll be tender and kind,
he'll love my one eyed cat,
When he makes a promise,
he'll stay there to see it through.
His lips are soft and gentle,
when I'm feeling needy,
And size matters,
my True Blue is large.
He'll already know
when I need to take the lead,
And he'll know when
I need him to take charge.
He'll keep calm when I'm triggered,
freaking out,
He'll hold my hands,
telling me to breathe deep...
He'll wake me up, so I can get to work,
He'll snuggle close,
the big spoon while we sleep.
He'll have friends who will listen,
who will believe...
He won't be scared of some shady, dirty cops.
He'll stand right next to me,
so I won't stand alone
He knows why I spend hours,
sitting in parking lots.
He'll kiss my neck,
chills will run all through me.
He'll lay me down,
when we indulge every desire
He'll make me scream,
while my toes are curling
He'll take me there,
again and again, bodies on fire.
He'll wrap me up, a blanket of protection
He'll want my opinion,
he'll ask me for my thoughts
He'll be alpha,
he'll make sure to let it be well known,
There will be no more sickos,
whacked out psychos who stalk
He is hard and rigid,
where I am all softness
He is math and logic,
while I'm words and emotion
He's the light to my dark,
sunshine to the moon
True Blue has all my love
And all of my devotion.
A Real Man...
Isn't afraid to express their emotions,
Doesn't feel threatened by a successful woman,
Respects all women,
Is comfortable enough in their own masculinity to be able to tell their fellow guy friends that they love & appreciate them,
Isn't afraid to show their true selves to the world....
To be a man you must be…
SWIFT AS A COURSING RIVER
WITH ALL THE FORCE OF A GREAT TYPHOON
WITH ALL THE STRENGTH OF A RAGING FIRE
MYSTERIOUS AS THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON
but in all seriousness, like I've said before, being a man is nothing more than a mindset. If you believe you're a man, well, congratulations. YOU'RE A MAN!
A True Man
If your thinking in scientific terms
To be a male all you need
is the right kind of organs
and some testosterone
But if your talking mentality
it really doesn't matter
your sexual organs
it is in your head
it is who you feel like you are
Why must someone prove who they are
"You're not a real man if you ...."
Whatever it is that people
don't think is manly
You can be a real man
if you play sports
or if you dance
or if you like fashion
or whatever it is you love
Don't feel like you have to do
a certain thing or have certain parts
or act a certain way because
that's the manly thing to do
Do what you love
act how you want to
dress how you like
and matter what people tell you
if you feel like a man
then that's who you are
Don't let anyone make you feel any other way
you are who you think you are
even if it takes you some time to figure it out
if you feel like a man you are a man
