Kindling
Purple knocked on the door politely. He was sweating as if he had just exited the sauna. She always nagged and told him he was wound too tight. That he needed to relax. Too stressed. She was worried he was going to burn himself out with the amount of work he was continuing to pile up. That's when she made the call for him. Purple's friends said he's a nice guy, just an 'average Joe' who owned the local coffee shop, sold to smoke, and did some day trading on his days off. Green, they called him.
Green opened the door and immediately recognized Purple. He had a suit that wasn't tailored and tie that looked like it was strangling the poor guy. He couldn't help but chuckle.
"Come take a seat, my man. First session is on me."
A Colourful Conspiracy
Green watched Purple from across the room as he wrapped up his conversation with Vermilion. Green and Vermilion weren't so much friends but they often spoke. Vermilion was complaining about Mauve.
"She's far too progressive."
Green leaned on his cane and nodded but he wasn't listening, he couldn't take his eyes off Purple. She immaculately dressed and he reeking of old money. Why hadn't they ever made a go of it?
"She's such a fashionista," Vermilion went on.
Green doubted this for he believed Mauve was merely old-fashioned, an aged pigment with a younger hue. She wasn't gaudy like her Aunt Heliotrope.
Purple at last caught Green's stare and he melted within his smoking jacket. She did nothing but draw on her cigarette and flick ashes to the aggregate. Their eyes exchanged information and, just between Green and Purple, Vermilion had his faults too, in fact, he was poison.
A Strange Event
Green wore an immaculate green floor length dress and high heels. Her dark hair was pulled up in a fashionable up-do. She stood tall, emerald eyes glinting in hidden amusement as she watched Red unwittingly terrorize Blue with her wild gesticulations and excitement.
Green stalked over, saying, "Red, calm down. What are you shouting about anyway?"
"Don't be such a killjoy! We're meeting Cousin Purple today." Responded Red.
"Purple?"
" I hear she's insane," answered Blue, staring sadly at the window.
At that moment, a short woman with wild hair, large glasses and a knee-length dress entered the room. This was Purple. She walked as if she was floating, and approached Green.
"Cousin Green, I thought you'd be more impressive," Purple said in a soft voice as her unfocused eyes wandered around the room.
Purple stepped away from Green as Green stared at her in confusion.
