Loaded Question
Yeah, I know, semantics, but I don't follow anyone on this site. Never even realized "another_proser" was a person until today.
I'm an anonymous writer. I don't like following people. I don't have a profile picture and my description is a period, period. Why? Because I want to remove as much bias as possible between you and me so that all that remains is my message.
Not everyone shares my philosophy. There are lots of writers here who want others to know who they are. They add descriptions, pictures, and flair but I'm not one of them.
I don't want my readers to read my work because they like me or like ogling me; I want them to read my work because they like my writing for what it is.
I know - in an I-follow-you, you-follow-me, circle-jerking, cyber pseudo-culture, the best way to get attention is to network and follow people, but I feel like that's meaningless. There are enough fake smiles and platitudes in the real world; there's no need to bring that baggage over here.
If you're going to read my work, read it and don't think about who's on the other side. If you're going to follow me, do it for the same reason.
I am just a voice; only the words, ideas and emotions exist. The author does not.
None of Your Beez Wax!
What people know about me doesn't change who I am, but it does often change what others think of me. That said, I usually have different levels of actually answering such a question as this.
First Response: None of your beez wax!
Second Consideration: You seem to be genuinely asking, and you've made it clear it's a serious inquiry and not a passing curiosity so... seems fair to humor you; I respond, "you know why!"
Brute Honesty: I don't follow anyone whose work I haven't read and either found enjoyable, or thought provoking. That said, aside from being your twin, I follow you specifically because you post some ugly and brutally honest stuff about real life. Sometimes it's hard to read in an emotional sense for me, sometimes the content is rough in the taking, but the way you write it is almost entrancing. Your happy posts are few and far between, but I wont not follow someone for that, especially when the topics of choice are gritty and real. I don't shy from the truth, even if it makes me cry. I also follow you because you post interesting prompts/challenges. Social Behavoir Study? Color me interested!
Also, while I am not often on the receiving end of your tides of generous commentary and heart/bookmark storms, I do also follow you because you engage others in their craft and that is important to me.
Hope this helps, hope you fill us in on what you learn!

This is going to sound stupid but here goes...
I'll say first of all because you are an impartial reader and critique (or at least try to be). When you read my work, especially deep, tragic and/or personal works, you do your very best to see from an objective angle. Even if what you are reading is something that would be offensive to you, you show as little bias as possible, and that's really helpful, because I think we all need someone to just speak the truth, and not just give a two word reply like "Not bad", or whatever.
Along with that, your twin is pretty boss. I assumed it ran in the family, so why not get a double dosage of awesome twin sister power? Not comparing or exalting one over the other (there shall be no sibling rivalries on my account). I do look forward to reading more of your works and exchanging and enjoying great and sincere feedback.
Hope that was sufficient. ^^
