Archaeopteryx
Archaeopteryx, elegantly flies,
O'er the sulfuric prehistoric land,
Glides like ichthyosaurus in the skies,
Respect of kingdom air does it demand.
Radiant feathers point to a long tail,
While it gnashes its teeth, projects its cry;
Millions of years have forgotten its wail,
Deep in the Jurassic world so long gone by.
Ancestor of Birds, a link in the chain,
Proof living dinosaurs changed with the times,
Gone from the living the bones still remain,
Preserved for new study in stone of limes.
See how the creatures of past worlds took flight,
And whisper in awe at their awesome might.
The Real Raptors
Jurassic Park created an icon
But also crafted a lie
This animal was much smaller
With feathers but cannot fly
It flocked with a pack
In the Mongolian sand
Watch out for its attack
When you cross its land
The killing claw is its most powerful tool
To battle with it makes one a fool
You can't out run it for swift thief is its name
A name that will live long in dino fame
Harp Monster
From out my window
I see the city that never sleeps
Dip n dot people like ants line the streets
Wowed by the sky scraper windows
Whose prisms seem to tickle the sky
My imagination remains stagnant
So I turn to the bones of a time gone by
The live architecture
Walking on prehistoric land
I think of the lovely bones
Sculpt the image with the clay in my hand
Modeling it affectionately
First the neck
Steely cedar
Trunk reaching sky
An animal with the grace of a harp
But a size to petrify!
