She wove filigreed webs of selfishness -
in darkened nights, she sucked their worth,
stitched crimson drops into their souls,
mosaics of captured lovers in bits and pieces,
monument to dark passions and unbridled need,
leaving diamonds in lives where sun didn’t shine -
selfless trail of beauty wherever she gaily trod
absorbing and at same time repelling regrets
living for moment, leaving crumbs of satisfaction
selfish roots deeper underground than seen but
men were satisfied with lean morsels on ground.
