Star Trek Wars
~ Figured I may as well do one, too! ~
Who's best? I have no idea; as a Libra, I'm terrible at making decisions, anyhow, but...eh.
I actually like them both; I have fond fond memories of watching Star Trek on TV with my parents and then I watched Star Trek: Next Generation with friends, but fell off after that, because I didn't have cable and Netflix was years from becoming a thing. Still, much as I liked the gang, I never got into the film versions.
I also fell in love with Star Wars from going to the movies with dear ole mom and dad. I also crushed on both Han Solo AND Luke Skywalker (not to mention Lando Calrissian, be still my <3!), whereas only Checkov did it for me during the treks.
If absolutely FORCED to pick one, I'd prooobably go with Star WARS, because watching those movies was SUCH an event, vs. Star Trek, which was - and still is - alllways on le television and I think that with S.W. being more rare/less in quantity, that ups its value a bit.
As for actual content, it's 6 of one and half a dozen of the other; I love them BOTH because of all the aliens and the action and the romance...Oh my. Honestly, who can choose?!
Then again, Star Trek doesn't have Darth Vader, does it?...Khan? Meh.
It’s Quite Logical
Logically speaking ( I am a Virgo)
I would have to go with Star Trek
since they pioneered the way to
"The galaxy far, far, away"
I mean really if it weren't for Roddenberry,
Lucas would've thought up something different maybe.
Frankly I like them both, each has their own generational qualities.
I look at it like this, Star Trek were the pioneers "back in the day" and
Star Wars is what happened after all that time passed.
So really there's nothing to compare.
Hmmm I am bad with names!
Spock, Jim, Uhorah (or something like that) Kirk and Scotty?
Obi Wan, Yoda, Princess Leia, Chewie, R2D2, C3PO, Hans Solo, Luke...
Darth Vader, Ewoks and Jabba the hut.
I watched them both but names go over my head, just like I watch the big bang theory weekly and still forget their names LOL
BUT If I had to pick one I´d say Star Wars, but only the very first ones, I remember watching Star Wars and being amazed by it when I was a little girl.
I am not into the the other ones on the series.
And I am not a big Captain Kirk fan lol
But I am a Brown coat, I have tee-shirt to prove it!
Bring Firefly back now!!!!!!!!!!
should this really be a debate?
Star Trek (The Next Generation that is) has Data, the lovable and curious android who tries really hard to be human, has a cute cat, has an evil twin brother, once tried to date a woman, built a daughter to care for and try to love, is a badass, is polite and understanding as fuck, and is apart of the best crew ever.
Trek Vs. Wars
Which intergalactic representation is the most attractive to me? Why Star Trek of course! I suggest the oddities of the characters in Star Trek with their freakish attributes were inspiration for the creatures and guys at the bar in Star Wars.
The complexities of the story line in various episodes of Star Trek have many times out shined the basic plot of Star Wars.
Although they both address the values of living organisms, apparent need for control and relationships, Star Trek fathers any movie about space and its possibilities.
Technological potentials are introduced in Trek. They are assumed in Wars.
Star Trek went to the final frontier and even questioned that.
We were thirsty for Star Wars in part paved by Star Trek.
Love them both, but Beam me up Scottie!
Star Trek or Star Wars?
That's like comparing an anthill to a mountain.
Which is the best?
Which one has Harrison Ford, in a different universe, over twenty years of fan fiction and lore, the absolute best female star, and awesome magic?
That's right, Star Wars.
I've seen Star Trek before, it's like Pacific Rim, lots of explosions, but not a lot of good storyline. But Star Wars, that has tons of explosions, plot twists, and a really good story to be told.
But the major turning factor is well, Harrison Ford. The. Best. Actor. Ever.
I mean come on, he's Star Wars' glue. He's Han Solo, Indiana Jones, he's a boss.
What do you think?
@Tee_Hi, enjoy
It would take me years to boil down the amazing intricacies of their universe, how the Federation wasn't about domination of one race, but a confederation of all complex beings, to protect and to serve, and how anyone could be special, how the planets explored were a whimsical masterpiece, and the show a breakthrough against all-white castings, but that would take years to fully explain.
But, just to tempt the fluctuation of explanations and reasons, this one is my simplest:
Star Trek is better because Chekov's a cutie.
