The play in Playing
I believe in playing...anything. Be it music, instruments, games - role playing, board games or card games. Because when you play, you can play. Play at words with someone to match wits or play at the tension between two.
Double entendres and words of wit and mirth go back and forth as you play with someone. Play games over a cooked meal, or at a restaurant. Checking the score of words
over food and drink. Feeling that triumph of getting in a really good one, only to find your match and be topped.
It doesn't matter the game we play, as long as the fun in play is had. There is something to be said for playing with someone better than you, but it really is more fun to play with an equal...
The importance of play is sometimes forgotten, how can you really enjoy the company of others without it? So keep the play in playing a plenty and the kiss at the end of the game isn't the end, it's just the start of a new play...
The Impossibilities
I used to play as a kid. I played with my sisters and brother, we lived in magical worlds and wielded the elements has powers. We were poor, sometimes wealthy and royal, or other times we were the only ones who could save the world. We were important. But, most importantly, anything was possible. Our minds led us through different portals to other worlds that no others could create, for they came from what we secretly believed in and what desired to be true. I felt free.
My mind knew no concepts of barriers or the impossible, but as I reach adulthood I realize not everything is possible and fear is a very real thing. Everyone is stopped by fear or the realization that many things are impossible. In play, whatever you decided is true. And why can't that be true to our own lives? Why can't we have no fear, believe we can conquer things, believe we are special and that nothing can prevent us from achieving greatness?
Play taught me I can be anything and do anything, and I know it's silly, because maybe we can't actually fly or fire can't shoot out of our hands, but if I have the right amount of determination and faith, I can become who I desire to be.

Play is a mimic,
a test for the world.
Learning the basics,
finding the ropes.
Strengthening your body,
even your bones.
We laugh and enjoy,
its all a game, just use a toy.
But one day the world calls,
and expect the worse.
In that fight you wont find joy,
there is no fun and no toy.
But your body will be ready,
accustomed by the play.
Your own: Throne or Cyclone?
Play is a toy,
A weapon,
An action of joy.
We hold it in our hands tight and it slips,
Through space it rips,
And births a kiss upon your lips.
It's the hourglass sand dropping gravity down
With levity and a frown.
The lit fuse 's a ruse,
We're here until we're not
No higher meaning
Living's a place aimed to rot.
A coincidental void,
Not the stuff from a tabloid;
Not the race
ran from
the turtle's or the hare's pace;
Void. Just empty space.
Of sorts.
With so much room,
You've got the chance to bloom,
No fear or regrets
When play, life begets
All life's creation
Is simple recreation.
It happens all the time.
It happens all the time!
With these words strung up in rhyme,
Or the face you pull when you eat a lime.
Yes, it's all art,
Even the fart that
smelled like
Apple tart, like.
It doesn't take a genius,
To not take it all so serious,
The lack of meaning and purpose,
Is not a hell-fueled furnace
Its your chance to make your own
Be it sat at a throne
Or in the eye of a cyclone.
See, I'm pulling at this thread
Because existential dread can be kept at bay
If you simply take a step back, and just play
Play,
Play.
