Green Eyes
I crumble my napkin of jealousy,
sip the first straw of discontent,
chew your verbal parasol,
devour broken promises of hot lava,
regurgitate the charisma flowing
from your veins as my fate
rests beside uncertain shores.
Crushing the wings of lonesome
on my tongue, my emotions escape
through molasses midnight
feeding on sunset thoughts of you,
as your pores reside in other corners.
I taste remembered drips of passion
cooled by loss on my windowsill,
touch my lips to my salted wounds,
nurturing the fruit of misunderstanding.
My throat clogs with thirst for you
while envy’s venom poisons my soul.
Woeful shadows of doubt extinguish
my obsessive colors as my blue eyes
turn green.
Changed
The one thing I never thought would change,
the one thing I never thought could change,
but the sparkling turquoise specks,
turn from blue to white,
and his face crestfallen,
his world turned black,
sunsets only in the mind,
never seen outside,
walls are mortal enemies,
waiting by surprise,
rain reminding him of his humainity,
the rays never hurting his head,
the darkness leaving in his dreams,
the blue sky and green leaves return,
leaving him is a daze,
until the sounds wake him up,
and force him to remember
the eyes changed.
