Favorite Things
Much More I Could Express
Being able to walk, talk and breath,
and able to read Macbeth.
To coin a phrase or line for a book,
regardless the time it took.
To hear the edge of the ocean's roar,
quietly watching an eagle soar.
To dance or sing when the mood feels right,
matters not if it is day or night.
To have my health is always a plus,
since death is not a thought, nor gives me a rush.
Close friends are my mainstay,
without; life as I know it, would fade away.
Blessed to have loved and been loved,
for in my soul, they shall remain beloved.
My life, now, is centered around words
that may sound droll and absurd.
To know pure joy, alas, is but fingertips away.
I keep hoping with each new dawn, I will find a way.
Listen to the rhythm of the rain that will fall,
I walk between the raindrops, waiting on heaven's call.
Alive
The movement of
pen in my hand
is wild.
words splash
my soul pours
as I write.
The brush spreads
freckles of tiny
strands drenched
with vibarant colour
adds life
to the
blank white canvas
image forms
lines interweaving,
as I make art.
Sounds of
all kind
entrap me
in bliss
my emotions fluctuate
to melodies
resonating in
my ears
lyrics flow
and with closed eyes
I melt.
The window is half open
while I peek from the
cracks of my curtains
laugher rushes in
group of families
playing as
children dance
festive cheer
ringing in the air.
people come together
and with a smile,
I watch.
The fresh air plagues
my nostrils with
the divine scent of earth,
a book sprawled
across my lap
words lift off
With my lungs gasping
for oxygen,
I read and read.
Colour flashes
on the creen
vivid images
elegant executed
camera shots
and angles
tell a story
romance builds
the popcorn
left hanging in the air,
I am speechless.
It’s loud
a cluster of
voices clashing
in heated and
fast movements
of hands.
Excitement pulses
as I talk about everything
to family, to friends.
Time moves,
but here I am
eyes looking back,
on some of my favourite
things.
And my heart is full,
Alive.
These are a few of my favourite things
I love to sense,
The caress of the breeze.
The scent of the flowers.
The shade of the trees.
The message from the sky.
The resilience of the mountains.
The movement of the waves.
The never stopping nature,
And all of its ways,
To nurture and nourish.
Always giving the answers,
To all my questions.
When my words
Strike a chord
When the notes I render
Make you surrender
When I express
And it does impress
It leaves me with a smile
I am grateful for my life,
And all that is there in it.
For the wisdom,
To make me realize,
That we are always given,
All that we need
To make the best of it.
