12:00
When will I wake up
from the midnight
of my own design?
When will I see the
clock change from
PM to AM. for some
reason, I've always
wanted to see that.
I used to set alarms,
so I would wake up
and see it. But it was
always a minute too
late. And now, I will
never see it, because
my clock no longer
holds those two letters
in the corner of it's face.
It now just says 12:00;
there is no AM or PM.
It could be noon right
now, but the outside is
dark and yet shining
with stars. Isn't the sun
a star? So maybe it is
noon, and we have a
million suns. A million
pinpoints of light that
still can't make my life
any brighter than it is.
Now, is it noon, or is it
midnight? I guess I'll
never know, so let's just
chill out and pretend that
it's lunchtime, and we can
eat sanwiches in the yard.
Pretend it's noon, when
man walks on two legs.
It's not mignight, when
the sun sets and the man
walks on three legs and
falls into the abyss of
death that will swallow
us all, inevitable as the
rising sun, and inevitable
as midnight tonight.
12a.m.
We call it midnight, but in reality it is the begining of a new day. Most people aren't even awake for the start of the new day, and when you are, it feels more like it is part of yesterday. It's probably because at 12a.m. yesterday was only a minute ago, and somehow today feels like it is still a day away.
