Sunbathing
On the crown of tidal waves,
the cresting fury and power
fill my cup ’til it runneth over.
Sun rays snap me back
to reality like rubber bands
against my stinging wrist.
Dolphins laugh in synchrony
of diamond sapphire mist
as the foam telegraphs
wet kisses on my brow -
tiny drops of aqueous jewels.
Floating effortlessly between
the ever changing sea of dreams
I squeeze the marshmallow sky
as I sail over the horizon
into the mystic sun
allowing pleasure
to wash over me,
the ever changing ocean
sunbathing in the sun
bearing my weight and
lifting my drifting thoughts.
Drinking In the Day
My eyes rest, closed; I drink the warmth
Embrace of sun’s warm light
Piercing through my onyx
clothes
Encapsulating sight
Freckled kisses on my skin
Gold rays stimulate
Still mind drifts; “remember
when?”
A sun-drunk liquid state
Where tickling each blade of hair
Soft effervescent beams
Tiptoe 'cross the shade of where
Darkness shielded gleam
Every fiber of my self
Awakened to its calling
Blushing cheeks and heart a-melt
As evening time starts falling
Pouring out its final drop
Knelt beneath the fountain
I capture it within my cup
And treasure ’til Night’s broken
Beautiful Day
Lying on the porch,
Wood warmed by golden sunlight
Underneath me
A light breeze flowing through
Emerald leaves,
Softly rustling my hair
The air, crisp and clear,
Laced with the perfume
Of vibrant flowers
Squirrels dart around
The towering oak tree,
Scrounging for bits of food
I watch them, a small smile
Resting on my face
As I bask in another beautiful day
Tangy Lemonade
Warmth tingled through her skin,
Kissing porcelain with fiery lips.
The risk of burning was worth it.
Lemonade forced a pucker within sips.
Wind swirled, teasing the trees,
And Branches danced with the rays of light.
The spread towel soft against bare back,
She wished to keep at bay the night.
Stilled as stone, she lay exposed.
No clouds fluttered across the skies.
Birds sang a reckless tune,
And she let go the softest of sighs.

YES, but... the pool is being resurfaced and is CLOSED.
YES, but... the other pool that no one uses, OPEN.
No one is there, perfect! I have the pick of the perfect lounger, right in the sun.
First time at this pool, no hot tub, the reason why.
But for today, this pool will definitely do.
So here we go, time to relax, on go the headphones and on goes the music.
Lay back and soak in the hot sun.
Sweat starts to pour from my pores.
The water is tooooo cold. Ughhhhh.
Step down 2 steps, that's enough.
Ahhhhh, sprinkle some water on arms, chest, neck.
Better.
Lay back down, more sun, more music, more relaxation.
HOT, OH MY GOD, IT'S HOT
Back in water, all the way in, to 3ft. mark only.
SO COLD
Stay in a while this time, looking up at the blue sky with white fluffy clouds.
Look around at the palm trees, the flowers, the plants, the mountains. The sun.
How did I get so lucky?
