Inspired by shooting
In college, some group came
for the shooting of a Kannada film.
I saw a scene so many times of
troubling wife in front of her brother.
I was seeing the same scene on trailers
on TV in the house so many times.
Got inspired and wrote a poem on
brother sister sentiment, where
a brother is giving a send-off to
his sister on her marriage day
The Clash of Beauty
The architect
Standing in resolute splendor
Bows before the fervant nature girl
Wrapping herself around pieces
Of splintered wood
Both appreciating the materials
Of a land indifferent to its end
He the builder of timber towers
Frontman to progress and production
She the dreamer of Summer
Blankets and books companions
In her walless canopy
Forest her playground of youth
Mother nature, a dear old friend
For him the trees
Are the fodder of imagination
Kinlin for a mind
Driven to destiny and repupose
Will the visionaries love
See abundance
In both dreams
Old and new
Or will they see only scarcity
Competition and regression
Will their differences divide
And blind them from their true face
Do they know they are the world
And their affair our children's fate

The Grove
Cordially donating respite
this entwined nesting of trees
as sunlight rushes erects a dome
aloft this oasis of variant green
not a drop of sunlight seeps in
no matter how the orb pounds down
insolently deciding
it will burn the grove to the ground
as the day lingers on,
the heat rises like the brimstone of hell
mocking the trees incessantly,
the sun hits and the heat swells
the green canopy stiffens sturdy
growing taller with every ray
stretching closer to the sun
without a word to say
silently daring the sun to shine
to fell this verde grove
turning the heat to shade
creating a cool speck below
defeated momentarily
the sun sleeps behind the hill
recovering to return tomorrow
determined to crush the trees’ will
the clash will continue
the sun knows it will not win
yet foolishly labors to batter the grove
over and over again
while the grove braces ever ready
to spar with the irascible sun
cognizant the loop continues
confident tomorrow’s battle is won.

No telling, how to stop it
I was only told not to drop it
I want to leave the Universe
Clock me
Do I turn the lights up
Or, off next
The stars sound like gossip
Tell me how to walk then
No telling, how to stop it
I want to give way to it
Cause a big wave
Swim it
Sink to the bottom
Find something lost
Blow bubbles, to ride off in
So I never ever
Can pull it together
Never get anywhere
Wondering where
The Exit sign is in here
Looking out every window
It’s very high up
I can see the whole Universe
Look!
No telling, how to stop it
