Divination
Dreams.
I dreamed of you,
My Orpheus.
You led me away --
So far away --
Where light and darkness
Could not bind me
And yet
I was afraid.
You showed me visions,
Opened me,
Exposed my flesh so that my bones
May know the light of day.
You pressed a stone into my hand.
You fastened your eye to mine
And said in cryptic sighs
"Awaken Child!"
And still I was afraid.
Oh Orpheus! You led me away.
You made a seer out of me.
You whisked away the heavens
So I may exist within the clouds
As an opaque soothsayer,
A wraith or shadow
Of some young woman.
I do not remember.
I left
My consciousness
In the sixth dimension.
Oh Orpheus,
Why did you take me away?
You bore yourself anew
And gave to me this onus,
Conceiving another into this place
That none but she could comprehend.
I can see through this mantle,
This smoke of the mind,
That you will soon unearth
That blindness is more painful than
This sight.
Oh Orpheus.
I know the truth.
Orpheus.
My Orpheus.
You are afraid.
