Amor Pernicioso
All these years, never for her to decide
Dejected, she will complain. You’ll argue.
Next week. Repeat. Fault to be laid where due
Is it with you? Did you know love dies?
There’s truth in her words laced with lies
Although there’s no regret in what’s said - clue
in. Meeting you, knowing you, loving you
Takes from the beauty of the lengthy ride
Yet you remember late night pillow talk
Her dreams discussed, your wishes answered
Or walks along the beach, your hands joined
Once puppy love, now hearts becoming rock-
hard every yell, insult. The pain preferred
in small doses, now entirely avoided.
