Two stories collide
Task: Write two drastically different stories. When you finish both stories, combine them.
Regulations: Don't write the stories with the intention of making them compatible with one another. Don't add sentences to transition one story to the next, instead alter the existing sentences to make the different ideas work together. The stories can't be separate, they need to interact and become one.
Example: (a) James went to the refrigerator to get water. As he was filling his glass, he was distracted by Brittany's arrival. Brittany walked over to him, picked up his glass, and threw it. (b) Charolette was mowing her lawn. Her puppy, Luna, ran out as she finished. She sat on the fresh green grass with Luna and hugged her. (c, the combination) James went to the refrigerator to get water. As he was filling his glass, he saw Charlotte mowing her lawn outside his window. He was distracted by Brittany's arrival, he looked away from the window right when Charlotte's puppy, Luna, ran out as Charlotte finished. Brittany walked over to him, picked up his glass, and threw it at the window. The window where Charlotte sat on the fresh grass with Luna and hugged her.
Have fun and get creative! Feel free to write it as I did, showing the process of combining the stories but don't feel obliged to do so.
