Visits to Orphanage
The priest informed the children,
to decorate their place,
as saints are coming,
to give them presents.
The children hung blue lights,
to light the paths,
made stars and tinsels,
to place on the trees.
They brought cane sugar candies,
and baked cranberry pies;
they also practised carol,
to sing for the saints.
The priest always says,
they are children of Virgin Mary,
and after giving birth,
she gifted them to him.
So the saints were to visit,
on the children's day,
to grant their wishes
and bless them love.
As the preparation was done,
it was time to wait,
for the day to come
and saints to arrive.
Gifts I Own
I was never born with any gifts,
so people said I won't succeed,
as the world is too competitive,
and hard to survive.
So I developed my own gifts,
first one being mind- reading.
I'm not psychic, but I observe,
how others act and talk; and
ultimately what they think.
The second is my perseverance.
I preserve until I succeed as
it is the key to the success,
that many people never sees.
The next of course is my writings.
I write off all my emotions;
be it ecstasy or despair,
I write and keep them aside,
in order to protect my mindfulness.
These are my gifts to stay afloat.
Now everyone says I'll survive,
no matter where or when,
as it is my best gift- survival skills.
The Hunchback of Notre-Dame
The hunchbacked skeleton hugging Esmeralda's
a heart wrenching symbol of love and devotion.
For all, Quasimodo was a monster and slave;
and under his grotesque figure, only she saw,
a kind heart that also needs to be saved.
To satisfy lust, the beast beneath deacon Frollo,
ordered Quasimodo to abduct the dancing fairy;
but the slave got punished for his master's deeds.
For saving his life, Esmeralda fed him water,
and it was elixir of love for him in the pillory.
For the murder she didn't do and the witchcraft
she never knew, Esmeralda was hanged.
The beast ensured that, if he can't have her,
then no else can either have her or see her alive.
And thus the gypsy girl died and Frollo laughed.
For Quasimodo, Frollo looked cruel than the devil,
so he pushed the deacon from the Notre-Dame,
to deliver him straight to the devil itself.
Quasimodo also vanished into thin air,
only to find hugging Esmeralda, in the charnel house.
