Dearest Friend
Dearest Friend,
A casual note do I send you,
On humble paper so meek,
But my heart is so longing to see you,
I felt that somehow I must speak.
Dearest Friend,
Tell me, how are you?
What has happened in the course of your week?
I long to hear, to speak, to listen to you,
But our chance of meeting is turning oblique.
Dearest Friend,
I now am like the ground, calling out to you,
But you are far away from me, upon a mountain peak.
I know however that with time, I once again shall see you.
So in a month our paths shall cross and our lives no more shall be bleak.
