You’re Ashamed Just Thinking Of Me
I'm so sorry for bringing this up again. I know the criss-cross marks don't just linger on your heart after I revealed myself. I'm sorry I didn't realize how everything would go--and you are too. But you can't stay here forever, pretending to be something you aren't so you can avoid me happening again. I am your worst mistake, but living, I am who you always wanted to be. They yelled at us for being who we are. They screamed. They shamed us. But this isn't your problem any more than it's their jurisdiction what you wear. You are not your parent's property, and even if they act that way, you are only with them a little longer. Be who you are where you can. Scream it from the rooftops. You are not a burden or a mistake. Regardless of your falls, your slip-ups, and your choices, you are a child who is still learning their place. Date who you want. Be who you want. Be who you need to be.
It's not a mistake to be true to yourself.
It was a mistake being open about it to those who would not listen.
