reflections of starlight
it is still,
and quiet this night
i saw a star a while ago,
the same one i saw
a month or so ago,
in the wee hours of the late morning,
just before daybreak,
greeted me
lonely star,
alone in the northwestern sky
fourty feet off the tree lined horizon
twinkling in atmosphere's air
moving from the still fixed gaze
of my still, propped head
suspended in a pool of water
my tired body, bouyant warmed
for my lonely head
the movement of the earth
perpetually from time immemorial
from west to east on its axis eternally
as i lay still, immobile
this lone, sacred star
moved ever so slightly
by the turn of the universe
as it moves from west,
to the north of east
movement ever so miniscule
to my transfixed eyes
like movement a growing plant,
in the shadow of the turning earth,
slowly in the space
i haven't seen it since
it's been the weather
or my hurried state of mind
for that lonely star,
the same i saw
a month or so ago,
in the wee hours of the late morning
just before the daybreak greeted me
this evening there was a mist,
a fog in the air
it had been raining,
a welcomed rain
the kind of rain you wait for,
but it comes by hard to get,
the kind you pray for,
if you be a God fearing man
when all is dry,
and your thoughts stick
to the back of your world torn throat
the kind of state taken
when locked up inside
four walls of climate control
devoid of question for its absence
that is the rain
or the sound of quiet
the kind that soothes the soul and mind
absent the vibration of 5G
technology
when in the state,
of no time to see stars,
given to the warrant, of the thought,
justified by the drought
to global warming, perhaps
for lives, if affected,
move along oblivious,
content,
or else in a state of unconcious atrophy,
devoid of the complete history of man
substituted for the present state of things
the scientific lie
and if it should scuff the reality of such,
the truth of the truth
then be quick to curse,
criticize the Almighty
as human nature prone to do
though they may deem themselves
agnostic
or
atheistic
or
evolutionists
or pantheistic,
in such quelling
their displeasure and discomfort
until it comes,
whether the rain,
or
a relief of pain
and then the resumption of the course
of daily living,
believing all things will endure
no thought of tomorrow's demise
for we are not eternal
apart from the sacrifice of the son
and his enduring love and grace
i miss that star
i equate it with the rain
that came what seemed to be too long,
that helped against the drought
that helped me place myself
a reflective state to talk with him
i wonder what lies beyond it
i know it's still there
whether i see it or not
i know its beyond my grasp
for now it shines,
in the bright sunlight
of day unseen,
but still there
just like reality
it speaks good things
it shines at night and throughout the years
as it has since its creation
it will shine and witness the end of this age
and it will shine until the remaking of the cosmos
as God ordained
i will make time for it again
it has a name
God gave them all one
one day i will know its name
i will be granted to know its purpose
when i and those who yearn for a new age
a new kingdom
to replace this corruption
will shine like it
and brighter still,
because
we yearn to live the truth
we aspire to right
we love, love
we love the Lord God of eden's stage
the creator of all things
believe in him
lonely star among trillions
shining though untold dimensions
in a vast unending universe
replete with untold wonders
lonely star,
i wish to ride
upon your waves of light
and reach the edge of forever
lonely star,
shining light in black of space
like you i stand and live by grace,
bright in a fallen world,
sustained by fearless hope, i stand
in his promise of immortality
