Can You See Your Life

you stand there looking down, out the windows

broken before your eyes but you are whole

you look and look and look and look.

do eyes ever get tired of looking?

they have lives independent of our own

they see for us and recall for us.

our brains tell us what our eyes see.

we have never seen anything.
