Chapter 8 Hollowed Warriors
I remembered the dream I had when I was little but, then I didn’t understand it very well. When I was out, I had the same dream, but with more to it. I saw that I was in a cave and I saw a rock wall with a big boulder.
“How do I move this? I cannot move that physically.” I said as I looked at the boulder.
“Ya don’t move it with your body, ya move it with ya mind or soul, mate.” An Australian male voice says.
“Excuse me?” I asked as I looked around and saw it was a snake.
“Ya move it with ya soul or mind. Listen to ya heart. It will take you far, kid.” He said.
I listened to my heart and mind. My soul moved the boulder and I walked through. I walked into some kind of arena and saw at the other end was an angry dragon. It lunged at me and I flew up.
“What?!? How am I supposed to beat… Wait a minute!! Maybe with kindness.” I said as I landed behind the dragon as he turned around. He growled and glared at me as he lunged at me.
“I’m sorry, dragono! Please forgive my whole family that has defeated you.” I said as it laid its head down and turned into dust.
I wiped away a tear from my eyes. I cleared my throat and walked forward through a doorway and heard a strange voice.
“Welcome to the cave of Hollowed Warriors. Sit down with your wings out, if you have them, and we will evaluate what you shall become.” A female voice says.
“Who are you?” I asked as my wings were weighted down to the ground. I started trying to pull my wings up but, I couldn’t get them to lift.
“I am Lunahilda. Please, be still as we examine you.” She says as a set of yellow eyes pierce the dark.
I stood still and was able to lift my wings again. I folded them up against my body.
“You are no longer known as Kudonnakin. You are now known as Dusty Vision. You are one of the Hollowed Warriors. You signify Life and Light since you are light colored, dear Cremello. Now that you have these new powers, you must lose all emotion for the rest of the journey. Only use your ultimate form when you are ready to give up everything you loved in this world.” She said as she showed to be a black bear.
I dipped into a pool of some kind of white substance and came back out with red stripes on my legs, down my neck and on my face.
“Be careful on this journey. You now have no emotion and shall go on alone. No mere friend shall help you along. No longer are you a griffin, you are now just a Pegasus.” She said as she disappeared.
I woke up and saw that Flicka wasn’t with me. “Flicka!! Flicka!! Where are you?” I yelled as I looked around.
I heard Flicka’s voice was faint when she yelled, “I’m in a dark room!!” I looked around the room and saw I was in the throne room.
“Well, well, well. Looks like sweetie kins is awake. Listen up, dearie.” Wolfendor says as he jumps off his throne and lands in front of my cage.
“Wait a minute… where is Dusty Vision? This isn’t her!! Go find her!” Wolfendor yelled angrily.
“I am the ‘Dusty Vision’ you are looking for.” I said with no emotion.
“That’s a lie! The Dusty Vision I am looking for is a griffin, not a… a… a puny Pegasus like you!” He snarled as he hit the cage.
“Does the griffin or Pegasus thing really matter since I am Dusty Vision?” I asked him.
“It does ma… no, it doesn’t matter. Tell the other guards quit the search and come back!” He says with a smile. Part of the guards came back and stood at attention.
“Who’s this ‘Flicka’ you yelled for?” He asked as he looked at me.
“An old friend.” I answered quickly but, with no emotion.
“Let them both go.” Wolfendor says as he tosses the Emerald to me. I caught it with my mouth and stepped out of the cage.
“Good Vision. Now, go find your old friend.” He says with a smirk. I walked closer to the throne.
“What are you doing? I said go find your friend!” He yelled at me.
I stayed silent and grabbed the wooden box and put the Emerald in it. I put the wooden box back in the bag and set the bag on my back. I headed out the door and walked out of the blue building we were in. I saw Flicka outside of the building.
“Hello. I must go now.” I said as I walked past Flicka.
“It’s not just you. It’s both of us.” Flicka said as she ran and stopped in front of me.
“No. It is only I that must go on. Alone.” I said as I left.
“No, you’re not. I am going with you no matter what you say. I am your friend and I’ll go with you no matter the circumstance!” Flicka yelled as she followed me.
“Leave me be. I must do this alone. Lunahilda said so.” I snapped at Flicka. She looked at me confused.
“Who’s Lunahilda? Nevertheless, I am going with you no matter what.” Flicka said, confidently.
“Fine, but don’t get in my way.” I said as I walked past her. She followed me to the edge of Salamandera.
“Don’t go out there!!” Someone yelled.
Flicka and I turned around to see who yelled. We saw it was Wolfendor.
“What do you want, you traitor?” I asked calmly.
“You guys cannot go. There is a force field around this town.” Wolfendor said as he looked at us.
“We can get through that.” Flicka said as she started walking toward it.
We walked through the force field, leaving Wolfendor behind. We walked North toward the big city, Jusyundun.
