The Little Fears

I am afraid of the unknown

of the young and old.

I'm afraid of change

and the things I am told.

I'm afraid of loss

and relationships that flicker.

I'm afraid of words

and those closer getting sicker.

I'm afraid of people getting close.

Too close.

I'm afraid of people seeing me,

and not liking what they see.

I am afraid to be. me.
