Green
Blue got to me sometimes. You could mistake it for calmness or shyness, but it wasn't. It was blue. Deep, rolling blue that streached on for miles and miles. When you're at the bottom, it's hard to get out. It's almost too dark to see, consuming any light and seizing everything you had and anything you didn't.
But then I met this guy. He was red a lot. At a school dance when someone hit on his date, in debates and on the football field. Lightning flashes of red, that muddled his mind and turned him almost too dangerous. But he was also yellow. Muted, washed out, bright yellow. All the types. Sometimes it seemed stronger than my blue, and other times it was almost white. Barely there.
And when I met him and his yellow, my blue recided a little. Bit by bit, the light came though and his red seemed to be less controlling of him. His yellow appeared more, eventually spilling over into my blue. Yellow and blue, blue and yellow. Together, we were green. Lively and a bit messy, we kept each other okay. Green.
