Trying

Bit by bit I’ve watched my spirit die

I often catch myself wondering if there’s even a point to life

But to know what happens when colours fade away

you have to promise to stay

and to take an oath

not to sabotage, but to work only for your growth

and it might be difficult not to sway

as you venture into areas gray

and no one said it’s easy to find someone to confide in

and it might be difficult to see the silver lining

but you’ve still got to try

and at the end of the day

just hope to find your way.
