The Lemon Tree
We came to the lemon tree
Our bitter seeds did fall
Arriving at an unexpected twist
We never knew at all
Whence our banquet table is no longer full
Closed off from society, alas this new rule!
But do we respect nature enough,
Are we willing to
Leave it alone for a while?
Yea, humanity took greedily more and more
Every time one walked out the door
Wishing to heal,
But a wish in vain
Unless we meet with Mother Earth
Ask her forgiveness, make a deal
Drink up the whole truth
We were never needed
And that’s very real
