Rebuilt.
Promises broken,
Dreams turn to dismay,
Rage begins bubbling,
Hatred no longer kept at bay.
Fueled by the furry,
Of loves broken vow,
By the dreams that once were,
And the bitter loneliness now.
Instinct takes over,
Sadness yielding to resolve,
Standing with purpose,
Loves conviction, absolved.
Feverishly erecting,
The hearts fortress, secure,
An impregnable stronghold,
Its safety ensured.
Confidence unwavering,
No matter, fraud or fact,
Forging on ahead,
Without looking back.
Entrusting in the promise,
The heart once prematurely secured,
Now cautious, not jaded,
That oneness assured.
Despite the misgivings,
The trials, the tears,
Forgiving the wrongs,
And forgoing the fears.
That yearning for closeness,
A desire to reveal ,
Longing for acceptance,
Is what enables us to heal.
Foreseeing love in the future,
Requires understanding ones past,
Embracing each moment,
Allowing for chance.
I pray thee made ready,
A hearts fortress, tight and secure,
But didn’t forgo a front entry,
Inviting love evermore.
