Silent death
The silent assassin comes unbidden at it's own discretion
It brings a hangman's noose and a mob of familiars
No one else hears them, but you know
No one else feels them, but you know
No one else sees them, but you know
The assassin breathes, and you feel pain
The horde begins to chant calling for your death
But no one knows
The assassin moves toward you and you scream but no one hears
They cannot hear you for it's only in your mind
The reality they see is you leading a normal life
You are suffocating
The pain becomes unbearable
How do you make it stop
The assassin hands you the rope
You can not reach for it because you arms don't move
Someone has placed lead weights where you hands once were
How did this happen
When did I become this thing
You cry out again as the mob again screams your name
No one hears
Why me?
No one answers
You look to see the assassin has moved the rope
The hangman's noose it blowing gently in the breeze
That would be so easy, or would it
To take away the pain and despair forever
But that is not how life works
